Traffic congestion and safety at Willamette Drive and Walling Way
Neighbors worry car wash traffic will collide with the Starbucks queue on Walling Way, block the Cedar Oak shopping center entrance, and push shortcut traffic through residential streets. The applicant says the site generates 47% fewer trips than the old McDonald's and meets ODOT's volume-to-capacity standard.
Sub-regional transit service study
After TriMet cut the Line 153 bus, West Linn is teaming with Lake Oswego, Sherwood, and Tualatin on a roughly $160,000 study of suburban transit options. Councilors pushed the consultant to look at service hours, last-mile access, and Highway 43 crossing safety.
Bolton Primary School parking and traffic impacts
Since the school district leased Bolton Primary to a Clackamas ESD program with 97 staff, workers fill the school lot, Hammerley Park, and surrounding streets, trapping residents in their driveways during twice-daily drop-offs. The neighborhood association filed a code enforcement case and wants a change-of-use review the city says should have happened before the lease.
Safe Routes to School construction near Sunset Primary
The final 2018 bond-funded Safe Routes project will build sidewalks and a new Bittner-Exter connection around Sunset Primary, improving student walking safety. Eight bids came in, mostly below estimates.
